TOUCHING SOULS IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST
Pastor Gilson Da Silva
I believe I was called to ministry at the age of 8 when I first went to a Lutheran church. I was so impressed with the preacher; I knew at once that I was going to be a pastor.”
Pastor Gilson Da Silva has been an active Christian for his entire life. Born in Brazil, he immigrated to America in 2005 with his wife Raquel. After leading music at the first Brazilian Methodist church in New England (Saugus, MA), Pastor Gilson moved ahead and planted the Living Stones United Methodist church in Chelmsford. The Living Stones UMC, serves the Brazilian community in Merrimack Valley and has found a new home in the Sanctuary of the Tewksbury United Methodist Church. Pastor Gilson now serves as a part time pastor for both congregations with a daytime service (Tewksbury UMC) and an evening service (Living Stones UMC).
Before being ordained in ministry, Pastor Gilson owned and operated a private construction company. He studied (and is still studying!) at the Garetty School Seminary, where he holds a bachelors degree in theology. Using all the gifts and talents bestowed upon him by God, Pastor Gilsons goal is to bring individuals, couples and families into our church family, helping them to connect spiritually and grow in meaningful ways.
Pastor Gilson and his wife Raquel are so thankful and blessed to minister in Tewksbury with their beautiful children, Kalleb, Hannah and Hadassah.
